I have an Acer A315-41-R95S and it keeps on shutting down. Whenever I try to boot it again the power button just won't work. I tried to press power button for 15 seconds and used the battery reset method that involves inserting a pin and hold the button for 5 seconds. But it just won't work. Sometimes when I press the power button, the blue light glows and some noise comes which I think is the hardware parts turning on but after about a second the blue light goes off and nothing happens. Worst thing is my laptop isn't even 6 months old. Any help??

I believe there's nothing much we can troubleshoot from afar, looks to me as some hardware problem and although it's a pity to have with be without the machine for a while since it is that new your best course of action would be to contact Acer and schedule a repair.

It should be free for you, depends on the regulations that govern those sort of things where you live, but given its age I'd expect the repair to be covered under warranty.

In your local Acer site you should find contact information (maybe a phone?) to get in touch with them. Or if you bought it through an online marketplace you could try getting in touch with them too.

    I'm sorry I couldn't be of much gelp :/

Open the bottom of the case. Look to see if there are two spring-loaded switches located near the RAM module sockets. If one of the switches is located below the RAM socket, this is a safety interlock switch. The bottom case must fully depress this switch when assembled or it may cut all power to the mainboard when the laptop is physically disturbed. Not all mainboards were equipped with this safety switch so you must check for it.  Jack E/NJ

The laptop turned on, but it looks like the power button isn't working properly or something. I really have to press it for a long time or just wait for a minute and try again to turn on the laptop. I've talked to customer care and they said if it happens again then they'll send an engineer to fix.

Yes, this seems like the best solution. Jack E/NJ
