hi,

on the 14th of October 2014, i bought a Acer Switch SW5-012 with, 2GB work memory and, 32 gb storage memory, and 32-bits windows 8.1
in those 5 years and 3 months, nothing wrong happened.
tuesday the 7th of January 2020 (2 days ago), i wanted to turn on my laptop (wich had still battery life of 30%), but it didn't work.
when i put the recharge cable in the laptop, nothing happened as well, and the little orange/blue light on the On/Off button didn't light up with the recharge cable in the laptop.
can sombody tell me what the problem is?
is it the motherboard, or the recharge cable jack, or something else?

Remove charger. Gently insert paperclip into battery reset pinhole on the bottom for about 10 seconds. Then let machine rest for about 15 mins. Then plug the charger back for about an hour. Then try to turn the machine on again. Jack E/NJ

If you don't have a reset pin hole on the bottom it is still possible to reset the battery, but it involves taking the tablet apart to disconnect the battery from the motherboard. Before you do that you might just test to make sure it's not just stuck in a sleep mode by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds, release it and wait a bit, then try turning it back on. If neither that full power cycle of the battery reset works it might be the battery or the charger...
