I bought an AN515-53-52FA laptop from Acer yesterday. It was working fine for a while, then abruptly shut itself off with a critical low battery message. I let it sit on the charger overnight and that did nothing at all. So this morning, I did an internal battery reset following the instructions here. I thought that that fixed the problem, as the laptop turned on and was charging again. It fully charged in the course of the afternoon, and then a couple hours after having a full charge, began losing battery again. This eventually resulted in another critical low battery message, so I tried another internal battery reset. This time it hasn't worked and the laptop still won't charge. It's as if the adapter doesn't exist despite being plugged in. I'm using the adapter that came with the laptop, which doesn't have loose connections or broken wires as far as I can tell, double checked that the outlet is working, tried another outlet, and made sure that the battery drivers were up to date earlier. What should I try next? I read that removing the case to remove and reinstall the battery won't void my warranty as long as no damage is caused, but I'd rather not do that unless I have to. I've already talked with Acer support and was told that I'm still under warranty, so I'll probably be shipping it out to get repaired this week if I can't fix it myself, but I don't want to be out of a laptop for two weeks after only having it for two days!

Immediately return it under warranty, don't mess around trying to fix a brand new laptop that should be working flawlessly out of the box
