We have an Acer Aspire V17 - Nitro Black Edition.  It's always run fine until the battery would only hold a charge for about 30 min.  Thus, we changed out the battery for a new one bearing all of the exact same model numbers etc. as the original battery.  When we plugged in the laptop after the battery replacement the laptop wouldn't charge over 73%.  We tried a of the solutions suggested in the Acer Forum and regardless of what we do, we've only been able to get the charger to come on for brief moments after the battery gets up to 73%.  By repeating the accepted solution many times we have boosted the maximum charge to 87%.  It takes about ten cycles of repeating the accepted solutions to raise the battery storage 1%.  There has got to be a better solution.  All of the internal cables are connected properly with no bent pins on any sockets.  All of the screws are in place and tight.  The case is properly closed and sealed.  And, we've repeatedly attempted to reset the battery by uninstalling the Microsoft battery control programs from the Control Panel, Devices list & using a paper clip to press and hold the battery reset button on the back of the computer, charging the laptop as full as we can get it, leaving it plugged in over night; then, running it on battery power until it shuts off (having depleted the battery's charge; then, we then recharge the laptop for at least eight hours to recondition the battery.  After completing every reset process we can find, the battery never charges more than it did when we last attempted to completely charge it—73%.  What else can we do to get the system to once again show a 100% charge; so, we can get full use of the internal battery?

Our final solution was to get a: "HALO ACDC Bolt 58830" backup battery we can plug into to keep the laptop running; but, that doesn't fix our problem, it's merely a workaround  solution that alows us to work where there is no power outlet available.

You do not reset the battery meter by letting the battery get to zero and shutting off, this can damage the battery, you should let it get to just below 10% then fully recharge and repeat for a total of 3 times.
Go to a local computer store and ask them if you can plug your laptop into one of their compatible chargers and see if it now charges

Please click YES if I answered your question

I am not an ACER employee
Thank you and have a blessed day  B)
