Do I need to replace my hard drive? Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM

Hi, I have a Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM, purchased 2 years ago. Recently, I have been experiencing extensive slowdowns, with my Task Manager showing consistent 100% Disk reading (even though the list of running programs shows disk totals under 10mb). I have googled solution advice and attempted an number of things without success. Including disabling search service, disk defrag, update device drivers, disable superfetch, reset virtual memory. Does this indicate an issue with my physical drive, and how can I determine that?

Thanks,
AlanR

Hi Alan, since you can access the machine let's see how that drive is fairing before continuing the troubleshooting.

    I have uploaded a program here: https://mega.nz/#!9Ilm3ayR!OWnybiLq-tq23McKHnsLTU7HHi1TGO1h28HS9-QWkzM

Please download and unzip the archive, you'll find several executable files in there, double click the one named gsmartcontrol. You should be greeted with a screen similar to this one:

If you only run the program with no other hard drive connected (i.e. no external drives) there should only be one in there, or two maybe if there's a card reader. Double click on the drive and either take a screenshot of the different tabs (better for us visually) or click the Save As button in the bottom of that window, it'll produce a text file with details on that hard drive.

Please upload or attach the text files or screenshots so we can see how it's doing ;).

There's another program that could be interesting and while it's not free its trial or demo mode would give you some insights on the disk based on the same data that can be seen with this one. It's called Hard Disk Sentinel in case you want to download it and give it a shot, its main window is already enough for us to see or the SMART tab).
