Acer Aspire E5-575-33BM 4k@60hz?

So I just got a 4k monitor and am trying to use my Acer Aspire E5-575-33BBM to output 4k@60Hz. I tried to hook up an HDMI cable, but then found out that the HDMI port on my laptop is only HDMI 1.4 and I am only getting 4k@30Hz through that. The only other solution that I was able to find was to get a USB Type C to DisplayPort cable as this would supposedly resolve my issue. Well I got the cable and have not even recieved a signal on the monitor from the laptop. What I'd like to know is if it is even possible to output 4k@60Hz from my laptop. I know that the GPU is capable of it.

Sorry, only the VGA port is capable of higher resolution up to 2048x1536. The USBC is gen1 and doesn't support DP. Jack E/NJ
