trying to figure the model number or name for this part for... well obvious reasons..so i can get a replacement
from help with a previous thread it was suggested they were
  • KL.23808.004
  • KL.2380E.001
  • KL.2380E.002
but when doing searches the parts i found dont appear to be the same (see link)
https://www.amazon.ca/Krenew-Replacement-1920x1080-KL-23808-004-Non-Touchscreen/dp/B082MQW59N/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=kl.23808.004&qid=1577904885&sr=8-1

(also this seems to be the only spot i can find said part that ships to canada so if someone knows another spot or even a local area in edmonton please let me know)

from what i can tell this appears to be the insert that goes inside the peice i need? (which i have and it works fine with no damage)

The correct part number KL.2380G.001 for the  23.8" HANNSTAR HSDT23873N25-S0 touchpanel. Googling the part number turns up the Canadian sourceitstore which I think can be bought separately from the whole LCD assembly but you'll have to chat with them to be sure. Jack E/NJ

mines the non-touch screen version, is this for the touch screen or non-touch screen? and does it make a difference?

As @Sharanji posted, you seem to have the right part numbers for non-touch models but they're the whole assembly. Is that's what's left of your LCD screen? I'd give the sourceitstore a call tomorrow to get the correct part. Or use their chatline which seems to be running today. Jack E/NJ

That's what stumped me at first. It's just a bezel & coverplate. If sourceitstore doesn't have it or it's overpriced, I'd probably head on down to the nearest HomeDepot and have them cut out a new lexan or plexiglas coverplate.   Jack E/NJ

i was thinking that but i find the plexiglas coverplate is being more then a little difficult to remove due to the strength of the adhesive doublesided tape =/ ...though if you have any suggestions on how to remove it?

After removing as much of the broken plexiglas as possible to give some room to work from the inside of the bezel,  try to slip a thin putty knife or safety razor between the bezel and plexiglas remnants to break the tape bond. A little bit at a time to avoid cracking the bezel.

The other easier option is to simply use color-coordinated duct tape as the bezel to affix the new HomeDepot coverplate to the back of the lid.
