Xamer try and remove the hdd and see if the noise persists after you disconnect it, if its really the hdd i would contact acer suport and send it back to get it replaced if the noise still there might even be coming from the fans depending on your own model

Nope, just be careful and don't break anything. You probably wont have to completely remove it either. Try to locate the ribbon cable going from it to the motherboard, disconnect it from the motherboard side gently...with the lappy powered down of course. Whatever is on the HDD, will of course be un-accessible next time you power up, but you should be able to quickly identify if your noise is gone. Might take the opportunity to blow out the fans while you have the back off.

Xamer just unplug the sata cable and not it will not void your warranty to remove either the hdd or ram unless you have warranty seals in the access covers that you might have to break to open them if thats the case it will certainly void your warranty

I think the reason why is because i installed a game on my hdd and i think windows is constantly reading and writing from the hdd causing the sound

This is also my assumption. That's what most people do with HDDs...fill them full of games. Still, I don't know if you should hear a laptop HDD. The last time I had a seriously audible HDD it was a 10k Raptor X.
