Nitro N50-600 LAN missing

Hi today my LAN connection has disappeared. I'm having to use wifi. Even in device manager there is no adapter listed. The cable is still plugged in and flashing green.
Anyone know how to fix this problem

    Thank you for helping me Andy I really appreciate that. 
    However while waiting for your replay I did a search and someone suggested ' turning off my computer, remove the RAM sticks. Wait 1 minute and put them back' As silly as that sounded I tried it and it actually worked. So I'm good to go . thanks again

    thanks Andy. Ok I ran that, looked like all went good till the end. Then a box popped up and said ' The Realtek Network Contoller was not found. If Deep sleep mode is enabled Please Plug the cable. '

    Put your laptop into Sleep or Hibernate then wake it up and see if it came back
