Good morning,

I would like to know if possible to instal a SSD drive on my model G9-591-74HY and what kinds of.

does the ssd replace the Hdd?

i also would like to know if I can expand my RAM, currently is 16gb.

Are the above worth or is better to buy a new laptop?

@Gabryel here you go this is your storage subsystem

    and this is your memory

So this means you can upgrade up to 64gb ram (check with cpu-z which one you have now) and you have one nvme slot (which it also works with sata) and one sata slot which you can upgrade with up to 2tb each one also your hdd can be upgrade up to 2tb (hdd 2.5" 7/9mm form factor) or 4tb (ssd) the downside of it its that youre limited to your gtx 980M/970M and the cpu  i7-6700HQ/i5-6300HQ so its up to you to decide if you would prefer to spend your money upgrading it or get another one depending on what you need/use it for

Are these slots place in the service tray or do I need to open the whole laptop? Basically can I do it myself?

I think the RAM slots are placed under the service tray but I am not sure.

    thank you for your assistance.

Gabryel u need to disassemble the laptop to upgrade the m.2 slots usually only the ram and hdd are easily accessible and probably you can only access easily only 2 ram slots the other 2 you have to disassemble it if its out of warranty or you dont have any warranty seals its fine if not you cant do it you will void your warranty by doing so open the removable compartment yourself and check what u have there available to upgrade without disassembling it if something is missing (not visible) that means you have to take it apart to upgrade it
