Nitro 7 AN715-51 performance drop when plugged in

Hi.
I have an odd problem with my new Acer laptop, Nitro AN715-51, i5 9300h, gtx 1650. Everything is fine when it's running on battery, but the moment I plug it in it starts to drop fps in games and it's very annoying. I would've understand if it was the other way around, but this I can't get. I use the AC adapter that came with the laptop. I did some research online, I tried tweaking nvidia settings, advanced power settings, nothing worked. What could it be? What's happening?

Thanks in advance.

Have you set up the Nvidia Control Center correctly? Please follow all my instructions below

Please click YES if I answer your question, thankyou

Make sure you do this below and always game on 100% battery BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged in while gaming, in your Windows Power plan select High Performance when on AC and in Nitrosense make sure High performance is selected under "AC" tab

    1. Download and install the latest Nvidia drivers from here and do not install GEforce experience, instead check the link every month for updated drivers
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx. Geforce Experience causes problems for some people

    2. Go to the Nvidia control center and click Manage 3d settings tab, then click the Global Settings tab and change Preferred Graphics processor from Auto select to your Nvidia GPU, do this by clicking the downward arrow to the right of Auto Select and select the Nvidia GPU. Then under the Program Settings tab select the programs and games that you want to run on the Nvidia GPU. Do the same under the Set PhysX Configuration tab

Then if your GPU is setup correctly I suspect it's something in your power plan, these are the only 2 things that affect game performance and from what you have described it sounds like your processor is running at 50%
Go to Settings/Power and Sleep/Advanced Power Settings (on the right) then do this

Try Power plan set to "High Performance" which is the preferred setting for gaming, Balanced is good for routine tasks. If it works let me know then we can tweak it to be on Balanced when on battery only

I've done all that, still nothing, same thing. This is frustrating. I've even updated the BIOS too, but no use.
It's funny that on battery I can tweak the settings all I want, it still runs smooth.

I appreciate you trying to help, but advanced power settings don't have any effect. Like I said, I tried tweaking them, I even put the exactly same settings on battery and plugged in, the same settings produce different results. On battery everything is smooth, plugged in I have lag in games.
It's interesting what exactly changes when you plug in the cord. I don't understand, I suspect it's something related to software, maybe in Windows 10.

Power plan changes when you connect/disconnect power. Check to see if your power plan changed when you connected power to when without power connected.
Most important thing... OSes tend to cut short on many services when on battery power to conserve power. Looks like there are a bunch of services on your laptop that are getting activated when connected to power.
Task Manager --> Processes --> check for any green leaves beside any processes when on battery - these indicate currently suspended services.

It's got me stumped too because in all my experience it's the other way round but I still maintain it can only be the CPU settings under power plan or GPU settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, these are the only 2 things that would affect the problem that you describe. keep on tweeking those power and GPU settings

The power plan remains the same, Balanced(recommended), which I have edited so the settings on battery and plugged in are exactly the same.
I've looked in task manager, nothing suspicious, same processes suspended on battery or plugged in. Microsoft Skype, Store, Phone, Weather, Cortana, Edge, Shell Host. I tried performing a battery reset, no change, I tried tweaking in Nvidia control panel, no success.
I don't understand what could it be.

@NirajTandel @sightshooton This thread is pretty much dead with the original poster marking an answer as solution. Makes new ones if you want solutions.
