Hello Everyone,
I am new here, I have just got an ACER ASPIRE ALL IN ONE Z3-715 SN D.................- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400T CPU @ 2.20GHz n and I'd like to add a new M.2 SSD and add more RAM.

Im not sure but Ive read on the web that not all Z3-715 motherboard models can accomodate an M. 2 SSD.

Can you please advise how can I find out if my motherboard is compatible also could you please suggest what M.2 SSD drive should I purchase? I was thinking about this https://amzn.to/355GMPf  is the M.2 NVMW Interface any good/ any benefit for my pc specs? or should I opt for the M.2 only.  Thank you

Re the RAM I am thinking to add 2 modules of 8Gb, do you have any suggestion about speed? 2400Mt/s is it a good idea? I think the one installed is an 8gb 2133  SK Hynix

Thank you in advance

    Hi,
You could buy 2x8GB Crucial, Hynix or Kingston 2400/2133MHz modules and install, as for the M.2 SSD, the one you have selected may or may not work, it's a NVMe SSD and I haven't seen anyone installed in this PC, so I would suggest you to get a M.2 SATA SSD, like Samsung 860 Evo and install, I must tell you that you need to remove the motherboard to install M.2 SATA SSD because the slot is in the bottom side of the motherboard(opposite to where the memory modules are).

Specs say the M.2 slot is SATA 3.0, so no NVMe in this model.

Hello everyone, Thanks again for all your info above!
I have ordered the SSD 860 EVO and now I am looking to choose between these two RAM SODIMM modules. Which one do you recommend for my Acer Aspire Z3-715 listed above:
    1. Crucial CT2K8G4SFS824A Kit Memory 16 GB (8 GB x 2) Dual Rank x8, DDR4, 2400 MHz, PC4-19200, SODIMM, 260-Pin
    2. Crucial CT2K8G4SFS8266 Kit Memory da 16 GB (8 GB x 2) Single Rank, DDR4, 2666 MT/s, PC4-21300, SODIMM, 260-Pin
also can you please reccomend the best steps I will need to follow in order to setup/install correctly my new EVO 860SSD and and make sure my new it is set as my primary hard drive with Windows 10 on it. Do I need to clone my EVO 860 SSD with current HDD where Win 10 is installed?
    should I follow this https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/437511/aspire-z3-715-compatibility-for-m-2-ssd ?

    Hello guys,
I also have a z3-715 and I wish to add a ssd. Is there a way to find out if the m. 2 is also supported by my motherboard without disassemble the computer? So far, by looking at acer official spec for this model I could only read about the SATA hdd...
Is somebody able to tell me if I can order an m.2 ssd without concern? What will be the best option possible for it? Is it still the samsung pro 860 listed above in other comments?
