CPU Cooler Fan Runs on High Speed, Computer Will Not Power On

We've had this same issue with several of the Acer model Mini-Tower PCs.  When plugging in the power cord, the CPU cooler fan runs on high speed, very noisy.  The power supply fan also starts but I'm certain it's the CPU cooler fan running on high speed an making the noise (unplugged the CPU cooler fan and the noise went away - still would not boot though).  The light on the power button does not light up and there is no signal to the monitor.

We've had this issue with several of the Acer PCs (probably 5 or more).  Either we have a batch of bad PCs that all go bad around 3 to 4 yrs old or there's something else causing this.  There are 2 of these model PCs having this exact same issue.  The ones that had this issue in the past have all been junked and replaced with Dell PCs.  Is there a issue with Acer PCs or do they all just give out after 3 yrs?

I have two ACERs with the same issue.  I'll be watching to see if anyone has been able to fix them.  I've replaced the power supply and the cpu but no luck.

I have the same issue on an ACER ASPIRE 5250 Laptop.  My model is 5250-BZ669.

I've had this laptop for 1 and half years, and the warranty is expired. Maybe repairing it isn't worth it. No more Acer laptops I guess.

    Here's my issue:
The first screen starts up, let's you go into BIOS or choose startup. But then it goes to a black screen and the underscore cursor is there, just blinking, and it never gets past that point. The system fan is running on high speed, the highest it can go, and it just sits there. I went into Recovery Mode using the System Boot disc I made when it was working.  I choose Reset to Factory Settings, it goes through the process, and the same issue.

I removed the battery and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then put it back in. Nothing.

I removed both RAM chips, and then tried one at a time, but still the issue persists.

The next thing I try is removing the Hard Drive and seeing if it makes any more progress.

Hi Jason, I've the same problem with a lot of M460 ... I've tested all possible issues with no results ...

But, on machines with problems, what type of memory modules you have installed ? Acer original or compatible ?

    Thank's
