I have the exact problem described by manicmechanic, Post 9 in August 2015 archive. Windows 10 stalls at 85% and then locks up at 88%. I followed manicmechanic's instructions to the T, as far as I know. It fails differently, in that it gets to 85% and displays "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart" rather than hang with a black screen. I have updated to latest BIOS P01.B0 as MS claimed the BIOS had to be dated 2012 or later, but manicmechanic said his install worked with the P01.B0. Where do I go from here?

CraigM could u please post your issue in the aspire legacy forum this is for predator laptops only :) and depending on your hardware/drivers might not be possible to convert/upgrade 7 to 10 you might need a clean install via usb drive win 10 upgrades are very picky when it comes to old devices with old OS/drivers plus you might want to get your hdd converted to gpt instead of mbr used by win7 for better compatibility with 10 uefi boot

@Acer-Harvey @Acer-Manny @Acer-Jose @Acer-Karp could this thread be moved to the correct place :)

    Thanks

Thanks xpaim, I moved it to the legacy group. According to manicmecanic's comments, the problem seemed to be related to the Intel display adapter. If so, then I'm not sure how the USB install would benefit. I have tried two methods of install: The normal download from MS's free site, and MS support downloaded an ISO file. Both failed with identical warnings in the DISM log.
