XV272U keeps turning off and on with Freesync enabled
I recently bought a XV272U monitor. There's a problem with Freesync - with Freesync on, the monitor starts turning itself off and on. The lower my FPS, the more frequent the problem gets, but it seemingly happens at high FPS as well. When it occurs, the monitor goes dark for about 2-3 seconds, complete blank screen, then it turns back on. What this means is, every second or third loading screen, in any game, the monitor goes black. I've tried different DP and power cables, same result. There's no problems with the monitor with Freesync turned off.
Here my question:
I've been in contact with the official Acer service center in my country, and their reply was basically "This is a normal Freesync function, lower your graphics details so it doesn't go below 48 fps". I've explained one more time that this isn't a real solution, because it doesn't only happen at low fps. I've showed them a video of it happening. I've linked them multiple threads of similar issues that I found via google. They kept stonewalling and saying "if the monitor keeps turning off with Freesync disabled, bring it in so we do some tests".
Are they right? Does Freesync make the screen turn off randomly? Shouldn't Freesync just turn off seamlessly at low fps, instead of turning off the whole screen? It may be that I've completely misunderstood how Freesync works. I'm losing my mind over it, any explanation would be appreciated.
