I recently bought a new monitor and i'm wondering if it's ok to close the laptops lid (Helios 300) while gaming. the reason i'm asking this is because i'mthinking maybe the heat the chassis creates may damage the display? Idk what do you guys think ?

You can run laptop under a heavy load for around an hour with lid closed and then check by touch how warm frame and display on bottom area, if the frame will be just barely warm and display cold so nothing to worry about

Probably not. There is some good amount of air between keyboard and screen.
Nothing peaks at the same time...

shayan_48 if you keep the back of the laptop  lifted up a few inches for a proper airflow it shouldnt heat up much anyway :) depending on the model/year

Helios 300 tends to get hot in areas top of Fn keys. When under heavy load, it is best to leave the lid open, atleast about 30%.

When lid is closed, those hot area above fn keys must be under the frame not display itself

That s the thing, the main heat output is above the fn keys and when u close the lid that area would be below the bottom frame of the display. The panel itself would be over the keyboard which is warm but i dont think that amount of heat could hurt the panel. The main problem is the area above fn keys which outputs some good amount of heat. Since we ve been having mixed answers to the question mentioned in the thread it would be better if you guys could provide further explantion to this topic. Thanks in advance.
