Spin 3 left screen hinge problem.

I purchased an Acer Spin 3 around a year ago. Its had little use or rough handling since I've owned it and I rarely fold the screen back and forth, I just open and close it  about to around 110 degree's or so.The other day I noticed the plastic screen housing had separated and opened up at the left hand corner near the hinge. It was at the point of breaking     when I opened or closed the screen and because I needed the computer for an important project I had to glue the splitting frame back together so I could continue using it.After reading some of the comments in this forum it appears that my issue is not an isolated one and other Acer models have suffered the same fate as mine, problems with the left hinges or stiff hinges that cause the screen case to split open near the hinge.I examined a later model than mine while in Office Works and noticed that the screen corners don't appear to have the same black plastic joint were the case halves clip together, the metal outer skin seems to wrap around the screen more. Can my style of fragile screen frame be replaced by what appears to be a modified , more robust frame and hinge assembly ? If this is not possible then this will be the last Acer I will be purchasing.Sad because I like the the Spin 3 immensely until this problem occurred.

    Hi @VamahaV2
Just bought? Near a year? If it's less than a year, then arrange for a warranty repair ASAP. If not, then use duct tape to help prevent any further stress damage. Excessive and unnecessary laptop opening/closing generally isn't a good habit anyway. It not only stresses hinges, but can result in conductor trace breaks in the ribbon cable or wire bundles from the mainboard to the screen, vidicam and other components

If less than a year, then arrange for a warranty repair A.S.A.P.

So anyone wanna take a wild guess as to what the warranty DOES NOT cover?

What the warranty covers is different for each locale around the world... Same with the duration.
