Hi guys,

I bought the Predator Helios 300 PH315, 2019 model for gaming, with 8gb (2x 4gb) ram installed and i want to increase it to 16gb (2x 8gb)

I don't really know the speed of the Ram i.e. i know 2666mhz can work on my laptop but can any higher work on my laptop?

Below are few options that i would want to get, any advice which one will be best in terms of performance first and then price will be very appreciated.

16GB RAM's

Thank you guys.

    Hi
yes thats correct it will only support 2666 though it states in the service manual its supports 3200 it was already tested by a user that 3200 mhz will not clock to 3200mhz so i recommend for sure hyperx 2666 (jedec)

I can say that my hyperx its clocking at 2890+ on cpu-z but bare in mind windows will not recognize it as 2666 only 2400 (at least on mine not sure about the newer models) so any benchmarks would be useless as windows provides the wrong info to all the benchmarking software's regarding the ram speed but what counts its the cpu-z results they are the most accurate you can get so again my best advice if you have the budjet to get hyperx impact 32gb dual channel set (2 x 16gb) its not cheap but well worth it because the laptops motherboards ( probably 99%) dont support xmp profiles in the bios and the hyperx has xmp built in (jedec) it will clock itself up without any profiles hope this helps

Virtually any memory rated at 2666 and higher will work (at 2666 of coz)

The memory can't run at such 2890, it can run at base clock multiplied by memory ratio (integer) i.e.

    rate 10 (standard): 133x2x10=2666
    rate 11: 133x2x11=2925
    rate 12: 133x2x12=3200

Hey Tom, thanks so much for your time. I am a complete noob when it comes to these things, i have posted the hyperx link above but you advised me to get 32gb, but i really would want to stick with 16gb (2x 8gb).

Can you paste a link to lets say an amazon or ebay listing that sells the hyperx version of RAM you are talking about? What i understand is that so long its 2666mhz, the lower the CAS CL number the better the RAM. Although, i have no idea what dual and single RAM's are. So if you could direct me to a listing, i can simply purchase it. I also came with conclusion to get hyperx or corsair vengeance.
