I have an Aspire E15 E5-511P0GC. My dvd died. My laptop no longer recognizes my dvd. It spins for a couple of seconds but nothing. I was wondering if I can upgrade to a blu ray. Is it possible?
Thanks for your help.

You need a 9mm thick ultra slim blue ray drive with an ATAPI interface. May be hard to find one that'll fit.  If your machine was factory installed Win8.1 or earlier Win10, you might want to check this out before declaring your ODD dead. https://kanguru.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115007893567-DVD-Blu-ray-Drives-Not-Showing-in-Windows-10-After-Update   If your BIOS information tab also  still shows the ATAPI drive is present, which I think it does from your description, it's probably just a software issue not dead hardware. If you still want to do go bluray anyway, you're probably better off with less hassle by getting an external USB bluray drive. Jack E/NJ
