Hi everyone,

I have an Acer V3-372-57CW. I have the need to upgrade the SSD (mSATA), so I bought a new one and installed it.

Unfortunately, the SSD is not recognized by the BIOS, which means that I cannot use the laptop currently. It says "None" under HDD in the system overview.

My BIOS is InsydeH20 Rev. 5.0.

I researched the internet and there seems to be a fix when you change some SATA settings in the BIOS. Unfortunately, I cannot change those settings and there is no possibility to access advanced configuration (I tried the 3x Fn+Tab trick and couple of other things that were mentioned in the forums).

I am kind of stuck here. Since the new SSD is brand new, I think that it is not faulty (unfortunately, I cannot test since I don't have a mSATA to USB adapter).

Has anybody a solution for my problem? What could be the reason for that?

I hope somebody can help me.

Cheers,

Helmut

  • Hello,
As far as I know, this series supports M.2 2280 SATA SSD and not mSATA:
    KN.1280A.005 - FLASH DISK.128GB.SSD.M.2.2280
    KN.2560A.005 - FLASH DISK.256GB.TOSHIBA.M2.2280.B&M-KEY
    KN.2560B.021 - FLASH DISK.SSD.SAM.256GB.M2.2280.B&M-KEY

    Hi laurent_14

Thanks for responding.. sorry, that was my fault. The SSD I bought is a XPG Gammix S5, M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3x4 SSD with 1 GB of space. This seems to mean that the laptop should support it, right?

    Cheers
  • According to the Acer specifications, this series only supports SATA SSDs.
