I have bought a PH315-51 Predator Helios 300 1050ti 8gb rab 1tb hdd for almost 6 months now. Right from the retailer's store until to this point, my laptop has been slow to my standards. Slow startup, desktop icons even is slow to load after such, google always either unresponsive or what not, sometimes my keyboard isn't working, and overall it just feels slow. Slow to refresh, slow on opening WORD and even slow when using WORD. WORD, not even a game. I could game but gets FPS drops at LOL. Even I had to throttlestop because of heat issues. Do you know what causes such sluggishness on a GAMING laptop and what to do to resolve it? Legitimately, I've been considering to resell it or even throw it away the window. Thoughts?

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your issue. Since you state that you have multiple issues. Kindly try to do a Factory Reset which will bring the unit back to default settings by reloading the Operating System. It will remove all the data in your unit. Try this steps and post your results. Follow the instructions below.

    1) Go to Settings.
    2) Go to Update and Security.
    3) Select Recovery.
    4) Click Reset your PC.
    5) Click Next, then select Just remove my files.
    6) Click Reset to begin the recovery.
Plug your unit with the charger and leave it aside. It will take a while and once it is done, you can set-up the unit.

MonicaAcinom you have to get a m.2 ssd  preferably 256gb+ just for the OS and clone your hdd into the ssd then set the ssd as system boot drive and format the hdd also you need to add another 8gb sodimm same clock/cs to work in dual channel the 8gb you have arent enough you need minimum 16gb these days

MartinJohn00001 the issue its the hdd doesnt matter how many times you perform a stock recovery either clean install or not it wont do anything the only solution its to upgrade to a m.2 either sata or nvme :)

that 1TB HDD is slow af. Get an SSD. I dont even understand why brands sell HDD laptops at this point

Find a way to get Windows on a SSD, a clean install. Should work 100x better. There are slots for NVME SSD and Sata SSD.
HDDs are heavy, use more energy, loud & flimsy, slow, unresponsive. And cheap. Your CPU & GPU hate your HDD.

Weakest link in the chain. Very weak
