The upgrade was offered on the Settings\Updates and Security which failed. Then I tried the process from Microsoft's Update website and this also failed after a couple of hours. It seems that Acer release is not yet ready. Now, the update message in settings is offering an update to rel 1909, (still have rel. 1809) which I doubt that it will work. More info is much appreciated.

brummyfan2 thanks, That is the site that failed to install it. I mentioned this in the previous post. I left the laptop on all night and used ethernet connection to the web. The installation failed at 92% and the laptop froze.

If one searches the web, particularly with Acer in the search, there are a few posts reporting the same problem. Some replies are by Acer's staff. I am in no hurry and keep on using 1809 on the laptop.

I am sorry that you are unable to update using Windows Update assistant, if I find any solution I'll let you know, in the meantime wait for someone else to chime in.

Every upgrade possibility from Windows web or local upgrade have failed. What would happen if I install the generic 1909 from scratch using my generic USB copy, wiping out the factory installation? Can I prepare beforehand and download the necessary driver packages? Will my generic installation work and will it affect my warranty?
