Would it be safe to disconnect the GPU fan?

Probably a stupid question, not 100% sure if my laptop can survive without a GPU fan. So I've been having these weird noises (first noise at 0:13):

I took apart the laptop and noticed that the GPU fan isn't moving at all. Like I give the CPU fan a little push and it will spin smoothly, but the GPU fan seems stuck. I push it and it will not take off. So firstly, is my only option replacing it?

Either way, it makes a lot of noise (even worse than the noises it makes in the video), and sometimes I'm in class or in the library and it will start making this noise. So is there a chance I could just disconnect the GPU fan from the motherboard? Would this cause any issues or potential damage to the laptop? Of course I won't be using heavy resource software, I just need it for class so just Chrome, Excel and Word.
