Hi guys! I got a new Firecuda 2Tb. I would like to ask your opinion if it is better to replace the 500Gb SSD as a secondary drive ( Drive D:) or use the 2Tb as an external drive?

an sshd won't be as good as an ssd for read/write times, so keep the 500gb ssd as the primary - is there a spare bay inside your laptop for an additional drive?

Gamerdok dont get sshd its a wast of money (ups too late you already got it) they are slower than a normal hdd if you want a good hdd get a wdblack 2.5" 7200rpm or just go for a ssd but donst waste you money in an sshd they will only cache anything speed wise when used as system drives i have 2 ( a 2tb firecuda and a 1tb toshiba h200 thats much faster that the firecuda comparing both but still slower than a hdd)  and even as system drives they are slower that a normal hdd also to use it as an external drive you could had got a seagate 5tb 2.5" in a good usb 3.0/usb-c startech 10gbps enclosure as i have i have 90% of the 130 installed games running from the external drive on usb 3.0 and they all run great no issues if i were you i would just return the sshd and get a normal hdd to use as external drive you only need a good enclosure

Also according to my experience with seagate which was really bad over the years i burned loads of drives and lost loads of amount of data because of it i want to point the the firecuda died less than 1 month after i got it with all the data of course amazon offered me a replacement or a partial refund and i just accepted the replacement because i needed a system drive asap for the laptop and of course as always seagate will refurbish the dead drive i had and resell it as new as usual for someone else to be in the same situation as me its the vicious money making circle lol so watch out if youre going for seagate there is a reason why laptop manufacturers dont use seagate as stock drives they usually use WD only
