I'm about to buy this laptop and I have recently purchased a laptop that was advertised everywhere as a 144Hz rate monitor but when it arrived it was only 60Hz, So I dont want to fall for the same thing again. I Want to be Extremely sure before spending my bucks.

Can anyone who has seen or tried this model in real life confirm the refresh rate of it ? I dont trust any other website than this and the community itself.

Thanks!

The Helios 300 is actually available in both 60 and 144HZ
so you can choose the one that suites your need
of course the 144HZ would costs a bit more than the 60 tho :)

LeeZingerr regarding your previous issue if you got a 1080p screen sticker its 60hz only if you had a 144hz it should have 144hz screen so this said if they advertised 144hz and you got a 1080p you should had sent it back (as you probably did) to replace or ask for a partial refund if you wish to keep it or a full refund

If you are looking to buy it as you said above i would contact the seller and make sure its a 144hz they are advertising and the same shipped

Also bare in mind that the only the 15" have 144hz none of the 17" has 144hz only 60hz displays (as far as im aware i havent seen any yet) as you can see in the acer support page for that model doesnt mention anything about 144hz only so if you want 144hz you would have to go for a 15" instead or get an external display

    Screen Size

    17.3"

    Display Screen Type

    LCD

    Display Screen Technology

    ComfyView
    In-plane Switching (IPS) Technology

    Screen Mode

    Full HD

    Backlight Technology

    LED

    Screen Resolution

    1920 x 1080

And these are the screens available in the model you are asking about:

It's 60hz. The Amazon listing lied. Im not going to return it because it was on sale for a great price and I need 17 inches, but very disappointing

sorry about the image quality there by the way, obviously i don't have any software on the computer yet to take a proper screenshot since i just opened the box lol.

btw irrelevant to this subject but the fans are not as loud as all the hype has made out in turbo mode. all the reviews said it was like a vacuum cleaner but honestly my family said it doesn't even bother them here in the living room while they're watching tv. it's just white noise.

oobula as i stated above there is no 17.3" 144hz only 60hz  to have 144hz display it has to be a 15" (this is one of the reasons i dont trust any amazon sellers  to buy any laptops etc unless its the manufacturer itself selling them because all the others they just want to sell them even with fake specs and of course you can return it but why go through all the hassle) also regarding the fans if you optimize windows and undervolt it even more if you wish to do so you dont need to have the fans on max just leave them on auto coolboost on

yeah i figured because it was sold by Amazon and not a random company it was credible, but there are a lot of 17 inch versions specifically listed as 144hz.

oobula the best its always cross check the model in question with acer support website if they specify there its 144hz its because its 144hz  if they only have 1080 its 60hz apart from that always be careful buying on amazon when its not from the manufacturer itself anyone can post whatever they want and i see in that link above (Ships from and sold by Joe's Tech Shop.) as most of the times they just make it cheaper and of course lie in the specs so they are never loosing anyway even sometimes sold by amazon listings may be also wrong :)
