Predator Helios 300 losing network connection

When I am copying large files, or copying many files, from the laptop to a QNAP Nas attached to the network, the connection to the network is frequently dropped.

This happens on both wi-fi and ethernet, so I assumed it was the router causing the problem, however, I have replaced the router and the problem persists. When the connection to the network is lost, connection to the internet is also lost, so I don't see how it can be anything to do with the QNAP.  It's difficult to see where the common point of failure is when using both wifi and ethernet. The problem only occurs when there is heavy traffic on the network (around 40MB/s).

I have the latest drivers installed for the ethernet and wifi cards.

keith_uk well i dont have any nas attached to my network or router but i have multiple external hdds (as shared nas) attached to all my 6 laptops in the network never had issues either with copy/paste anything from any device in the network either ethernet or wifi 2.4/5ghz on win XP/7/10 i have fritzbox routers 2 x 7360 as repeaters and 1 x 7490 as main and they always worked fine do you find this issue happening in any other laptops you might have or is this the only one because this is weird at first seems to me some kind of network overload that the router drops the connection for awhile so i cant say for sure as you said it only happens when theres heavy traffic and probably its that youre generating more traffic that the router itself can support and it will drop the connection

By the way what is your full model and specs

I don't have any other laptops to try it on. My initial thought was that it was a problem with the router, but I have tried it with two different routers and the problem was present with both of them.

Thats really weird if you have any chance try it on a friends network if your able to just to check if the same happens on high load also im not saying it is but there are many factors to consider here could also be the nas disconnecting itself on high load

But it also loses connection to the internet. If the problem were with the NAS, the laptop would remain connected to the internet because it would still have its connection to the router.

Fire up an Administrator command prompt and capture the results of "ipconfig /all" when things are working then again when in failure mode. That will give us some insight into what's actually failing. You could also look in the Event log to see what errors are being thrown at that moment.
