Getting my Helios 300 next week and was thinking of buying a Laptop cooling pad too. The model I was looking at is a Havit HV-F2056 -  Has anyone used this or can suggest others

Cheers

    Hi,

First, laptop cooling pads do offer varying degrees of effective cooling. ... The overall average was a 13 degree drop, but some laptop coolers were closer to a 1 or 2 degree change. Second, you are likely to see a very slight performance improvement as a result of this cooling.

Cooling Pads may work. They are not liquid cooling systems and can't drop laptop temp by 20°C on their own. It's totally depends on you which type of cooling pad are you using.

Typically, a conductive cooling pad allows for the cooling of a laptop without using any power. These "pads" are normally filled with an organic salt compound that allows them to absorb the heat from the laptop. They are good for a limited amount of time from around 6–8 hours of cooling.
