Currys are selling the Acer Predator Helios 300 PH317-52 for £1299 & the PH315-52 for £1099

Both have Intel I7 9750h, GTX 1660 Ti, 1 TB HDD & 256 GB SSD, Full HD display / 144 Hz

The only difference that I can see is the cheaper one has a 17.3 screen unlike the more expensive on which is 15.6 which just confuse me ??

Any ideas  ??  both have 8GB ram

Thanks for your replies Looking on the Curry's website all of the specs look the same..... The only difference that I can see is that the cheaper one doesn't state that the memory can be upgraded to 32GB unlike the dearer one and also doesn't say if its a IPS LCD screen... Not sure if its worth saving the £200 and getting a larger screen but losing the IPS and RAM upgrade option

    Hi,
No problem, according to manual you will have one of these panels for PH315-52
    INNOLUX N156HCE-EN1, BOE NV156FHM-N4K, BOE NV156FHM-N48 V8.1, AUO B156HAN02.0, AUO B156HAN08.2
All of them are IPS and apart from INNOLUX others are of high quality but some like INNOLUX as well.
    Panels for PH317-53:
    AUO B173HAN04.2
    B173HAN04.0
    INNOLUX N173HCE
    LG LP173WF5
These panels carry different names for IPS but the technology is similar, I have taken these information from manual but can not guarantee that you will not get any other compatible panel.
As for the memory, both can be upgraded up to 32GB.

Thanks again...…….   The £200 cheaper model seems the no brainer then :)
