Changing to AHCI mode (Linux install) Nitro 5 AN515-54

Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 

CPU: I5-9300h

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

GPU2: Intel UHD Graphics 630

NVME SSD: Kingston RBUSNS8154P3256GJ1

BIOS: V1.09 (latest I can find for my model)

To keep it simple and to the point, after many days of searching for solutions to the problem of why I cant install any version of Linux, it seems to be that my SSD must be in AHCI mode before any distributions will recognize the drive. My question is this: How do I enable AHCI on this laptop? I've checked up and down in the BIOS for a setting that will allow me to make said changes, nothing has showed up. It's also worth nothing that none of the previous versions of my BIOS have had any options to make this change, so downgrading does not seem like an appropriate action to take. 

Could anyone lend me a hand and offer some advice? I'm at a loss.

On some Acer models, Acer added a hidden SATA mode switch (in the BIOS settings), so you can switch/toggle to AHCI.
I have no idea if this Ctrl+s method exists on your model.  Only one way to find out.
Obviously you'd want to back up your important personal files and create a USB recovery drive with Acer Care Center before attempting because if it works, you'd probably lose your data and render windows unbootable.....and you'll need to re-install windows.

If Ctrl+S doesn't work, then I guess you could contact Acer and ask for this feature.  Not sure.  Good luck.
