My predator helios 300 keeps going up to 90-99 degree celcius. I have tried the throttle method and yet this has become even worse. It even had a broken ssd before.

Hi there, I've also noticed a sudden increase in my temps, pushing 90 degrees C on both CPU and GPU. I've looked at that thread, but it seems it's mostly about the older Helios 300 with the 7th gen CPU. I'm running the 8750, with 1060 6 GB. I'm wondering if it's a software issue, maybe an update that's causing the overheating. Any other suggestions?

CloneboyZA optimize your windows and check here  if the temps are still high your only last solution its to repaste it/clean fans etc yourself with kryonaut or similar if you are able to without voiding your warranty if you have warranty seals you would have to send it for repaste if out or warranty nothing to worry you can do it:)

Wanted to add my feedback after reading many posts and youtube videos online after having a similar problem. laptop playing fortnite on medium settings 60fps was contantly on max fan, and 90-96c temps on cpu and also very high gpu, just below cut off points.

took the computer apart, removed the garbage thermal paste, and reapplied with arctic mx-4 paste..

this is a success and worked.

now at 60fps, all settings on epic and v-sync, and cpu set to max turbo, the cpu is staying 60-65c on avg, with spikes up to only 70c.
    GPU temps equally dropped..
this is a 28-30c drop.. idle temp now 40c before idle temp was 55-60

Hi, Kindly find the temperature info of your unit below.
Predator and Nitro products are engineered to withstand higher operating temperatures than traditional notebooks. These systems include features that help with cooling and heat dispersion. The CPU and GPU are designed to handle temperature spikes in excess of 98 degrees Celsius without causing damage to the components. It is common for PC temperatures to spike temporarily during heavy gaming or graphic usage. If the system encounters excessive temperatures that could damage the hardware, it will automatically shut down to protect the components from becoming damaged.

If in case if the unit is still hot, you can contact the Acer Support and they will help you. Check the link below.

Your last 3 lines were good but the 2nd to 6th line were not at all satisfactory, especially the '98°C' part.
Trying to do my best here - Your happy Predator owner =)!
