just bought a Predator Helios 300 () with i7-8750H - GTX 1060 6GB - 6GB RAM and a 60hz display, my laptop also have USB type C 3.0  I wonder if I can connect my laptop to a external monitor with higher refresh rate like 120hz/144hz through USB type C 3.0 to displayport adapter?
i was checking the monitor :
Acer KG251QF 24.5 144hz
thanks

NasX i would suggest you to use the hdmi port instead as this one its directly connected to the DGPU if you pretend to use only one display your idea might work or not for multiple displays but n depending on the docking station u use and usb-c doesnt support DP unless its thunderbolt or its a newer gen like for ex the Spin5 series usb-c gen that supports DP and DC-in if you would want dual display setup it would had to be via usb 3.0 port with a hub that would work properly without throttling on gaming check here

NasX Check this thread for a list of confirmed 144hz displays working over hdmi 2.0 you can also check my signature and join the predator fb group there is also an updated list in the announcements posts :)

If you pretend to use more than 1 external display you would need a docking station but via usb 3.0 port (probably a usb-c dock with an adapter to usb 3.0) usb-c will not work and for gaming wont work either it will throttle dual or more displays will only work fine for light works not gaming
