I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. After entering key, my laptop rebooted. And it said your digital license is not valid.
Now how do I revert back to Windows 10 home which came with the laptop with valid digital license in my predator Helios 300.
Please help me.

Find Windows 10 Product Key on a New Computer

The product key for new computers that come preinstalled with Windows 10 has the product key stored within the motherboard firmware. Users can retrieve it by issuing a command from the command prompt.

    1. Press Windows key + X
    2. Click Command Prompt (Admin)
    3. At the command prompt, type:
      wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

This will reveal the product key.

    ------

If your new key overwrote the above, you are out of luck and would need to reinstall windows or reset to factory.

    1) type the command slmgr /upk
This will uninstall win product10 pro key you have installed.
    click ok.

    2) type the command
    slmgr /cpky
This will remove the 10 pro key from the registry so it is not visible to other key finder programs.

your factory key in uefi bios remains intact.

    reboot.

after reboot check activation, it should activate to win home from factory oem keys in uefi bios.

How do I factory reset ?
If I factory reset,  will my Windows switch back to home and will it be activated automatically or will it still remain in pro inactivated.
And will all my predator apps be installed or will i need to install them manually.

Will this revert me back to Windows 10 home Single Language activated via digital license or will it still remain in Windows 10 Pro unactivated.
And also will it install acer application automatically or do I need to manual install them ?

    1. If you clean install windows with a windows 10 bootable USB, it would be clean windows as from Microsoft.
    2. If you do a factory reset, it would be like how the laptop was shipped to you - Acer customized.

Both these options would pick the Windows version shipped with laptop (mostly windows home) from the mother board.

I factory reset  my laptop.  But still it shows Windows not activated. And it still remains in Windows 10 pro inactivated. It's not switching back to Windows 10 home even after factory reset.

clean install (search google for the process) and then install remaining drivers from windows update via the device manager.
install predator sense app from acer  support website for your model.
the rest of acer apps are not worth installing.

install remaining drivers from windows update via the device manager.
Please refrain from advising users from doing this - we have multiple users here complaining of bricked systems with botched bios updates from windows update manager.

    1. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10startfresh
    2. During install, you have the option to delete recovery partition or leave it there.
    3. The link in point 1
    4. Yes. You will get a unbranded Microsoft Windows 10. Post windows install, go to Acer site for your laptop model, and download the apps you feel you need.

I have a clean install on my laptop with Acer Quick Access and Predator Sense installed - didn't see a need for any other software.

re: windows update, some users  have issues. most probably their system is inherently having problems, or they have heavily tempered or so called fine tuned their system. i have no issues, so far, in all 3 of my acer laptops so how i can generalise that updates are faulty.? i have 0 day updates in all the machines.
if windows updates were faulty they would, logically speaking, affect all the systems. but i see a very , very small % of people have problems.

Please check the history of windows updates - 0 day updates breaking certain brand SSDs and such.
Also, users with no issues don't post of issues - it is users with issues who post most threads here - the 1% you mentioned.
