Hi. I bought my Nitro 5 / SNID: XXXXX in Bangkok Thailand in October 2018, now in Amsterdam, Netherlands, I was playing around in the Legacy Bios, and i Disabled / Configured the PCI configuration. OOOOPS> My nitro wont boot up, only a black sceen, i tried everything: battery flash, bios flash, external sceen, sadly nothing works: the screen stays black: When i connect an external display it goes on and off. same as the ventilators. there on: and after 7 seconds off. Keyboard LED stays on. LED'S (blue and yellowish) stay on.

kind regards.peter

  • Is this option only available with an unlocked bios? You have probably corrupted the bios.

You can first try to reset the BIOS externally by removing the charger. Then gently inserting a paperclip into the battery reset hole for about 30 seconds while at the same time pressing and holding the power button. Let the machine rest for 15mins before trying to turn it on again. If it still fails then you can try to reset the BIOS chip internally by disconnecting its coin cell battery and shorting out its mainboard slot. Remove the HDD and RAM doors. Remove 15 screws from the bottom cover and gently pry it off. Then pull the battery pack and BIOS battery connectors from their mainboard slots. Short out the BIOS battery slot on the mainboard with a suitable metal tool for a few seconds to remove residual charge from the BIOS hardware. Jack E/NJ

Were you trying to install Linux in legacy mode from a bootable USB installation stick? Jack E/NJ
