My brand new Acer ED7 34" has 4 USB 3.0 ports on the back and none of them are charging my phone. Do I need to change any settings? Doesn't seem to have any in the monitor menu for the USB ports.

I believe they are all just the normal data ports, so have only the smaller amperage outputs. They should provide enough power for phone charge maintenance, but not the higher amperage needed to raise the charge. Which phone do you have?

Yeah, your phone is likely asking for higher amperage. You should be able to use the ports for everything, just with no more than maintenance charging on modern phones/tablets.

Ah I see. iPhone 8 Plus. To use it as a data port, will all available types of methods to connect to the computer work?
