Will I need a special connector to add-on and connect a SSD to the motherboard? It looks like a M.2 SSD is whats spec'd here. ex. KN.2560G.022

Good Morning eastavin !
If your model is really informed, it already has a 128GB SSD installed where your operating system is, and it is not possible to install another one because there are no more M.2 slots.

Interesting. I spoke with two knowledgeable people yesterday and they both said I could only add an SSD but I could not replace the existing eMMC storage. The second one even sent me a list of compatible M.2 drives yet I don't see any M.2 connector anywhere.. which was the reason for my question here.. I thought maybe I need to buy a connector to adapt it to the motherboard??0

Some models have motherboard overhauls that do have an M.2 slot while others only have eMMC storage.
There is no type of adapter that can dock an SSD on the motherboard.
Is your equipment the overhaul with eMMC or SSD as main?

there is no doubt this box has eMMC as the main drive. Its looking like the Acer phone support and chat support desks don't have the correct information on this product. There appear to be two potential spaces inside the case for an SSD but no connectors.0

Could you post a picture of the motherboard please?
