I have an old Acer Aspire 5733z laptop running Windows 7 64bit. System was lagging a bit so I wanted to check to see if I ever downloaded and installed all the latest drivers so I jumped onto Acer's support site with my SN Id #, put in my OS version. The site showed me a Bios update version 1.10 and I knew I was running version 1.07 so stupid me trusted the site and downloaded it and then set about to flash my Bios to version 1.10. Worst mistake ever.

While in Windows everything went good until the system rebooted to complete the process and immediately I was met with a Something went wrong notification and system needed to fix startup, but of course after scanning the computer it stated that the problem couldn't be repaired. Exited and rebooted again and then the system went into a reboot loop and then rescanned for startup issues which again it couldn't fix and so on and so forth. So got online to check for ways to reverse the problem so I unplugged laptop, took battery out, took hard drive cover off and removed the CMOS battery and left it out for a minute and put it back in, reattached the hdd cover, pressed the power button for 30 seconds, put the battery back in, reattached power adapter, booted up, pressed F2 to get into Setup and it still showed Bios version 1.10 so I set Bios back to system defaults and still showed Bios version 1.10. Saved and exited and system rebooted and this time it didn't enter into a reboot loop...nope it decided now was the time to give me BSOD and then reboot.  Pulled out my Windows 7 Repair disc to see if I could run sfc scan from the command prompt, but of course I couldn't because it kept saying a system repair was pending...which it wasn't...because the system would tell me it couldn't repair the startup.

So I went back to the Acer website and tried to connect with LiveChat, but because my laptop is old and out of warranty they wouldn't help me. So I clicked on the AnswersByAcer Chat service and chatted briefly with Ganesh and he informed me for him to further assist me I would be charged $99.99 for one time assistance or $159.99 for one year of assistance and if I wanted to continue. I politely refused noting if it would be that much and I couldn't find a solution myself I would start looking for me a new laptop, but I did ask him if he could tell me if the system could be flashed to a previous bios version and he said the system bios could be reflashed with the older Bios version 1.07. So I at least know that it is possible. Now I just have to find the 1.07 bios version for my 5733z laptop. Can anyone here assist me with this or confirm that this is even possible? I screwed up by flashing my Bios, but there should be an easy way to reverse one's mistake.

Thanks for any help you might can send my way.

    UPDATED Info:
Okay so I went back to the Acer support site since nothing I was trying was working and again looked at the BIOS downloads to see if I might had missed something. I did notice that Bios version 1.07 was listed under version 1.10 for Windows 7 64bit so I got super excited that I had missed that before and just knew this would solve my problem. So I downloaded it and also the 1.10 version again. Wanted to make sure I had selected the right OS and the right downloads this go around. So I unzipped them both to a usb drive and using my Repair Disc I opened a Command Prompt and ran the 1.07 Bios and then something else appeared on the screen...the same words kept quickly scrolling down the screen.

    Scrolling info
This version of E:DOS1.07\SPROM.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a  x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

Okay so anyone have any idea what this might be about? My system is Windows 7 64-bit. I didn't see this when I flashed it in Windows so maybe this is what is causing my issues. Really confused at this point.

I would appreciate any and all help.
