Can a stolen laptop be tracked predator 300

Recently my friends Acer predator 300 Helios G3 572 has been stolen he thinks, he seems pretty doubtful he can recover it. I was wondering if Acers absolute or Lojack is already pre installed and or if the hard drive is wiped it’s possible to still track the laptop if these programs aren’t installed. None of his email accounts have been logged into to so we can’t use that to track it either.

You can try tracking on a map using the Windows 10 option Find my device. Go to the Microsoft site (https://account.microsoft.com/devices) to lock it and put a message on it.

Of course, for this to work you should have configured your Microsoft account to your computer and activated this feature.
Other than that there's no preloaded software for tracking. Hope this helps.

Nope. It is valid only as long as disks are not wiped. This is easily circumvented by swapping out the disk.

It is recommended to set BIOS password so people may not swap out disks easily since they need to be set in BIOS as to which one to use to boot.
