So I decided to roll back my BIOS from 1.21 to 1.15 and I followed the steps here https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/305412/aspire-v3-772g-bios-downgrade/p1#U305412. But the thing is this also does not work(see screenshot).

    Good afternoon linux_man102 !

Primarily, he is totally wrong about the placement of having to resell Bios downgrade due to the "device not having Linux support".

I assure you and affirm that any and all equipment has support for Linux distributions.
It is only a matter of knowledge.

The downgrade procedure is extremely risky and no forum support is provided due to the rules.

Which EXACT model of your laptop and which version of Linux can't install?

@MaClane it's an old beater E5 471G that I have lying around and the thing is that some distros in my multiboot linux live USB don't work(like Debian, Puppy Linux, Knoppix) but other mainstream ones like Ubuntu and Trisquel do work. I also have another much older laptop only has a bios and not UEFI-capable and all of the above work on that. I ruled out the other things that might cause trouble besides firmware(bios) so I don't think I have any other choice but to downgrade the BIOS. P.S. I don't plan on installing linux, only using it in a live USB/CD.

Understandable. Although what I'm gonna ask you isn't part of the downgrade procedure perse: I tried looking up my unit on Acer's site and see if there is any info related to any proprietary implementation of BIOS recovery but couldn't find any. (I found some about using fn+esc while turning the laptop on but I am not sure if it applies to all models.) Is there any for my unit?

I can verify, although I don't know it right now.
The point is that by forum rules it is not allowed to provide or share changes and Bios or downgrade procedures.
