Laptop display not turning on

This happened started happening right after I installed the Windows 10 August 2019 update this morning. When the update installed, I logged as usual and wasn't able to open any programs. If I was able to open a program, it would run really slow and eventually stop responding. I figured that I should reset the laptop. After that had been completed, I left it and came back to it later today. When I go to turn on the power, the hard drive will start running but the LCD and fan won't start.

If someone is able to assist me or tell me what might have happened, that would be great.

Hi, sorry to hear it. Kindly try power drain by following the below steps.

    Power Drain
    **********
    1)Unplug the AC power adapter.
2)Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off.
3)Search for a pinhole that has a battery symbol next to it on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.

If that doesn't help, try to BIOS defaults by the following steps.

    RESET BIOS
    ***********

1.Turn off the unit. When the unit is off completely, press the power to turn on the unit.
2.Immediately keep on tapping the F2 to enter the BIOS.
3.In the BIOS, press F9 to reset the BIOS to setup defaults.
4.At the confirmation screen, press Enter for Yes to load the default configuration.
    5. Press F10 to save your changes, and restart the system. Select Yes and press ENTER to confirm.

Kindly click "YES" to "Did this answer the question" if my answer helped you!
Thank you and have a Blessed Day  :3

Thanks for the help but it seemed as though luck wasn't on my side. It turned out to be the backlight on the LCD. I managed to get the fan spinning again but aside from that, I will have to wait until something can be done about the backlight.

Does your unit display external when connected to a monitor ?
