Hi guys

I would like to change my current CPU (Intel i5-2400) with an (Intel i5-3470) in my Veriton M6610G. I have never done this before and am very worried that I am going to bugger things up! The BIOS is apparently current (ver P01-A4) and the CPU is compatible (LGA1155), but the watts are different 95w (Sandy Bridge) to 77w (Ivy Bridge).

Is this i5-3470 compatible with this motherboard?...AND
....Is it as simple as just replacing the old CPU with the new CPU or am I in for a whole lot of surprises here?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated...
Mike

Ok, so I have established that the motherboard "Chip Set" supports Sandy Bridge.... does this mean that the i5-3470 Ivy Bridge processor will not work or is there another BIOS version which will "make" the chipet support Ivy Bridge? Or should I just give up with this idea?

Can someone please advise me on this.... thanks
