Dear Acer community users,

I would like to install new disk SSD M.2 on my Aspire E15 E5-575-52JJ because I have problem on Windows 10 with performance (100% usage HDD in task manager). Installation is easy but I don't know how to switch off internal battery? Unistall baterry is recommended but my laptop has internal battery so I don't know what to do. I readed this post on this website but I don't know if it's true?:

The OP has probably found a solution by now, but I am posting the solution here in case it helps someone else. After opening the back cover of an Acer laptop with a built-in battery it triggers a safety switch that disconnects the internal battery. The laptop has a little pinhole at the back (indicated by a little battery icon) that can be pressed with a paper clip to reset the battery to an "ON" position. Sometimes you need to hold the pinhole button in for several seconds (8 seconds or more), sometimes you have to press it several times, and sometimes you need to wait a couple of minutes after pressing it.

If I take off back cover internal baterry is disconnected? How do you know that? I writed to Acer support but they don't answered me.

Thanks for help.

just remove the back cover, disconnect the battery from mainboard ( this part not necessary, but better to be safe) and connect your ssd, reconnect the battery and you are set.
dont bother about that switch as not all acer laptops have it. it will have no effect on your ssd installation.
