I need to upgrade my acer aspire a715-71g-52sk performance adding to my actual 5400 RPM HDD an m.2 ssd. Since I have this free slot I'd like to fill it. I have researched a bit but didn't find quite much. Can you tell me which m.2 ssd type my laptop can support and which are the fastest it can use (without limitation) ?

    Hi,
    You can use M.2 NVMe SSD up to 512GB, larger SSD may work but this is the size recommended by Acer.

    Hi!!

    @Vxleo

    Below is the officially Acer recommended list of compatible SSD's for your laptop series.

    NOTE: You can add SSD's apart from the above list and that may work in your computer. However, there is NO tested information and Acer will not guarantee the performance of it.

    I have heard that m.2 ssd can have heating issue...How can I go safe since there's no temps test in any ssd buying page? You know in a laptop heating issue can be very bad...

    Hi,
    I haven't experienced any heat issues with any of the M.2 SSDs I have used, they can withstand the temperature up to 70°C, you can also install HWmonitor to monitor the temperatures.

    Because I'm choosing between Crucial MX500 SATA m.2 and WD Blue SATA m.2 and I saw many reviews reporting that Crucial's has better performance but is hot as hell going at or over 70 celsius in short time (idle 50°) which is not good for laptops...so I decided for the WD Blue's (Idle 30° and max 60°)
