nvidia is giving a popup in the taskbar that there is an update for the Geforce Game ready driver. I know alot of laptops ship with custom drivers designed by the manufacturers specifically for the intended laptop. Is this one of them and safe to update?

    Good Morning oricon499 !

What EXACT model of your laptop?
The drivers provided by Acer are optimized and tested at launch time.
As a user you are free to update your drivers whenever necessary.

    PH315-51 is only the series.
The EXACT template is identified by the last 4 characters.

oricon499 my best advice and i completely agree with @sri369 usually all newer drivers are only released so all users can find all the possible flaws/faults with them for the devs wont have to waste time looking for it themselves easy way to find whats wrong to fix it in the next release (the same procedure goes for windows updates) is if your not having any issues with the current driver dont update it and this goes to any driver not only dgpu i myself only updated my dgpu driver once and it was because i was forced to as the games i had required that minimum driver to be able to be playable never updated again and im still on 416.94 without any issues on any of the latest games my igpu driver still the acer stock from 2017 :)

And regarding the question <<Is this one of them and safe to update?>> not its not from acer the GE drivers come straight from nvidia themselves all acer custom stock drivers can be only found on the support page for every model and they arent updated often because they would still work fine

PS: anyone is free to update whenever they want im not in any way saying to not its just an advice
