So I own the predator triton 500 with dual channel 16gb ram @2666hz but it runs at less than 1200hz.I tried to enable xmp via the bios but there seems to be no option to do so

This is normal. Double data rate RAM (DDR) modules actually run at about half the posted frequency on the mainboard buss to the CPU. However, they essentially push through two streams of  data through the buss as if running at 2400 to 2700 MHz --- that's why they're called DDR. Jack E/NJ

theo_efsta you cant enable xmp bios profiles on any ram on gaming laptops (or any other laptop as far as im aware only on desktops) the option its not available in any bios (its locked only available for unlocked bios for engineers/devs) your only option its to get Hyperx 2666 it already has jedec (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) xmp built into the sodimms (or any other ram that advertises jedec might also work fine) and they will clock themselves up i have 32gb hyperx 2666 and they clock at 2980+ though windows only recognizes it at 2400 which its a lie because what counts its what cpu-z shows that is the real clocking  speed in real time so any benchmarks on windows will be wrong because windows will only send the ram info at 2400 to the benchmark software no matter which one they will always get the sys info from windows making all benchmarks useless regarding ram speed
