    Good Morning Mark2019 !

First, how did you detect that your device is infected and what symptoms?

There is no single way to remove viruses or other virtual threats.
You should start with the basics, using a full system scan with a good antivirus.
Then use specific applications for malware, trojans, spyware, etc.

I am using windows defender and the common threat when I run a scan using windows security is the trojan.

If Widows Defender has detected a Trojan then tell it to remove it

In this case just check the option and WIndows Defender eliminates the threat.

    Dear Friend,

Always invest on a good Antivirus and Internet Security Software. You have lots of choices but 3 will stand out, Norton, Bit Defender and Kaspersky as they have security suites that's all in one depending on your budget. But nowadays antivirus and internet security are always a necessity to have peace of mind using your computer offline or online. Take care.

For your issue, you can download 30 days free trial for Norton Security, then Run a complete scan of all your drives and system. Its the best tool to remove viruses from your PC. Enjoy the trial!

@hiesenhuer sorry to disagree but Norton is a known computer hogger and for that reason techies stay away from it but your perfect with the other 2. The point of his post is that windows defender actually found the Trojan the poster just didn't understand that he can also remove it using Defender.

@andylb Sorry to disagree also, i've been using Norton ever since and in my laptop right now which is Nitro 5. I have never felt that its been slowing my rig or anything. Anyhow, my suggestion was to use it to remove all viruses from his laptop, once removed he may opt to uninstall since my recommendation was the trial version. Still he may opt to subscribe and continue the 1 year subscription if he finds it well and never worry about viruses again. Good Luck!
