Good morning, afternoon, evening all. I have an Acer -  Aspire - Desktop XC - 704G, running Windows 10. The problem started a few months ago every time I booted up my computer and clicked on Google Chrome, Mozilla, or Internet Explorer, it seems like it takes an eternity for the page(s) to load (whereas before they would load very quickly). I have tried (and continue) antimalware programs, running my antivirus, I haven't downloaded anything new recently, I just don't understand. I have plenty of hard drive space. I'm out of my league on this now and my warranty expired, so I can't get professional help that way. I also tried checking my task manager for startup programs, which brings me to the next problem...it doesn't list anything. It's completely blank! What happened to all the startup programs that were there the last time I looked?

    Good evening KURT53S !

What EXACT model of your computer?
Have you checked the internet connection?
Have you verified that the disk is not constantly showing 100% usage error?

KURT53S - I'm not as smart as these helpers, but I'll try a few suggestions.  What version of Windows 10 are you running, Home or Pro?  Also have you tried holding down the left windows key and press the pause key?  This should bring up a screen showing information about your basic system.  That should show how much memory you have available.  Also have you tried right clicking on your task bar, then selecting  Task Manager?  There is an option there to show a lot of your systems status.  On the lower left, there is an option to show Fewer Details (which hides a lot of information) or show More Details (which shows a lot more information), such as  CPU, Memory, Disk, Network, Power Usage and Power Usage Trends.  Hopefully this might give you a starting point.

So time for a start toward diagnosis. The model number MaClane is asking for will help a bunch if we have to get down to the nitty gritty, but there's some stuff we can do first. Have you run an Internet speed test yet? You should see downloads speeds near the rated speeds from your service provider, uploads will likely be between 5-10% of that. Let us know the results, especially the ping speed. Note that often things will be slower during the busy hours of the day because the ISPs almost always oversubscribe.
Also, do your speeds increase once you've been up and running for an hour or two, or do they stay low pretty much always?
