For a long time I wanted to switch off my second hard disk when it was not being used.

Don't let your second hard disk run for no reason, switch it off and on whenever you want.

Via Windows energy management you can set the time when the hard disk must go to sleep.
This is not a solution, too often the hard disk becomes active again.

The solution.

You can very easily switch the hard disk off and on again.

1 Go to device management
2 Go to disk drives.
3 Select the correct hard disk and "NOT THE C: DRIVE"
4 Click on right mouse button switch device off or on.

5 Create a shortcut from the device management on the desktop.

There are days that i don't need my second hard-disk. This ensures a more durable lifespan of the hard disk and a lower power consumption.
