Hello!

Just sent my Helios 300 in for RMA and have a question.

I had someone put in a Samsung EVO SSD in the 2.5" bay a few months ago (didn't come with the laptop)

If they have to replace the laptop, will they move the drive over?  I made a special note in the case to do so but one gal was telling me that they don't do that?  Any accurate information on this?

Also, the laptop is essentially a paperweight - non-responsive to anything at all.  It was probably due to a power surge - if that's the case, is that the type of situation they can actually repair or is it more likely they'll just swap the computer for a new one?

Thanks!

Normally, when you send any item in for repair, they tend to tell you to keep it with factory installed items only - for in case they feel it needs a replacement, they'll ship the replacement.
And the drive is not moved over under normal circumstances. They might ship it alongside or separately, but might not put that in into the new one.
