Well then Acer should probably do something similar with the Helios 300 as well. With this there is no reason not to, it does not even has to go completely off if they fear hardware failure.
Did someone try older bios revisions?

I know that here on forum, there are some enthusiasts/volunteers called aces who are not Acer employees but should have contact with them. Also aces have access to internal documentation like service manuals etc.

I know that @xapim is very helpful on other topics  :)

@xapim could you please arrange our discussion with engineers? All what we want is just to have fan behavior similar to triton which stops its fans.

Not sure the fans should stop. But they should atat least go lower if the laptop is cooled down or isn't under heavy load.
A slight update to the thread title would be nice as well since it makes it sound like that the fans ARE stopping when they  should not.  But hopefully people read the comments too.

    Thanks for your answer.

I checked with my old computer and I see 2 differences :
    - the gpu fan goes to 0 when it is not used (I got a minimum of 2500 with this helios)
    - the cpu goes to 1.5k (which is almost the case with helios)

The cool thing would be to have the possibility to reduce both cpu and gpu fans, let's say to 1500 for example. Or stop the gpu fan (if possible).

Please acer engineer, hear us out. You did a good computer, it just need to be tuned a bit more to be perfect

We just need more control about Predator Sense.
Direct access to the GPU OC cfg file, the XTU profiles and the fan curve.

Everything after that point (like roasting components because you turned you fans off) is simply the user's problem.

There should be a fail safe of course. It doesn't make sense to let the GPU overheat - just like it does not make sense to have 2500rpm when the GPU is in idle. Maybe part of the problem is that the cooling solution is one solid unit - but still - let the GPU fan turn down more if it's in idle.

belik I cant unfortunately i dont have contact with any devs or engineers only the staff that manages the community and  that should be proposed by contacting Acer directly and leave the suggestion to be proposed to the devs and also open a thread to request it here:

I have just revealed that previous generation helios 300 stops the fans when temps is under 40C

    Also, just check this review
    https://www.ultrabookreview.com/27055-acer-predator-helios-300-review-ph315-52/
Where they have presale unit of PH315-52 with 8750H and 2060 and their version could stop them also!
The fans are still both active with daily use on the Auto fan profile, at around 2000-2500 rpm and 38-40 dB at head level. You can switch them off if you want a perfectly quiet laptop, but that will significantly impact temperatures, especially on our sample that kept calling on the dGPU on battery. Retail units should stay cooler even with the fans switched OFF.

Definitely there is a failure from Acer but noone even hear us

I returned my Helios 300. Sad but that's what I had to do.
I really liked everything about it but I can't enjoy it with the fans constantly audible.

Strako unfortunately i do not agree with you or anyone returning it just because the fans are noisy after all its a gaming laptop all gaming laptops are meant to be noisy (after all its a desktop inside a very small chassis with just a small space for heat dissipation) but hey everyone is the way they are and make their own decisions but im forced to disagree completely if you dont want noisy fans better stay with normal laptop instead this is my way of view and i stick to my words but again everyone is free to do whatever they want in any way

To be honest, I also very close to return it.
    1) First question, is a must, for idle. Why Triton-500 can stop them on idle? Why previous gen Helios-300 can stop it? Why in Helios-700 they can even set custom profile with 1000 rpm on each fan? Running fans always in 2000-2500 is very loud, really, it has nothing to gaming laptop.
    2) This is desirable. Turbo mode is very loud, I want to lower max fans. See this review for compare Helios with Y540
    https://youtu.be/pyggQzZmM4I
Lenovo has similar performance but way less noisy, 49db vs 58db in Helios.
    3) I can’t find any third-party software to control or at least monitor fan rpms. Even aida64 can’t see it at all.
    4) Last hope. Since I think Acer don’t care about our requests at all and will NEVER fix it.
If I visit personally service center, will they be able to unlock bios and tweak settings?
I found following pictures of unlocked bios of another model

I think it is in Thermal configuration, can they tweak settings there for me?
