i have acer aspire v5 431 it was working perfectly in dual boot . one day i on and it stops at acer logo , just after that it stops at grub, i shutdown forcefully during both times.
(on-off)Next time i press power button cpu led blinks for some time after that it is continuesly blue but nothing happens.  after 2-3 days of trying the on-off procedure it gets into windows directly then i perform bios time scan with my "guardian antivirus" version outdated(till 2018) then it stops in mid scan
. again i start applying on-off procedure but till now it doesn't gets on .  i have gone thgh battery reset , i try to upgrade the bios by esc+Fn, i try to get into bios by f10, f12, f2, f8, esc,  but nothing works ..
Do help me please atleast on the sake of "ironman"...

Turn off machine. Plug charger in. Turn machine back on and IMMEDIATELY press F2 key to enter BIOS menu. You must press F2 BEFORE Acer logo appears. Jack E/NJ

What is bios time scan? I never heard of such a thing. How did you time scan if you only get a blinking blue power light? Jack E/Nn

once  %% it gets into windows directly then i perform bios time scan %%

actually it restart the computer then perform scan at the bios time(before even acer logo). it scan some files and then stops at one file for very long so i forcefully shut this down.

thanks for getting into this mess just to help me

    No,
i am booting with a bootable usb having ubuntu on it.
Guardian is installed on my laptop in windows 8.1 . i Perform a scan when once it accidentally gets into windows directly(without showing any grub interface or asking my choice to get into windows/ubuntu).

    No, after removing hdd
my problem of cpu led (it on and off and after sometime steady on) is solved i.e cpu led operates normally (till now hdd is out)  but my display shows no effect even nothing(only black)  i tried to get into bios with my bootable usb and without it also by esc, f2, f10, f11, f12, ctl+alt+esc, del, f8, f9, f1  but nothing appears on screen(totally black my hdd is out till)
i was hoping my motherboard was damaged but my cpu led now shows it was operatin properly...
now i would think more and please suggest if you do have any way to get out from this

    no,
i tried Fn+F6 but no effect.
after some time of frustration i put the hdd back and get the ram out of it for some time(20 minutes) and then after putting the ram back in i tried the same on-off procedure after 2/3 tries it gets back to the blinking cpu led status but once it goes up to acer logo(please wait screen) . but soon the cpu led operates normaly(either on/off as per power button) but yeah till now the screen is totally black

    >>>get the ram out>>>

This was the next step. Take out all the RAM modules. Don 't put them back in. See if screen turns on and stays on. Jack E/NJ

An external TV screen or monitor means that graphics adapter is good. I think the video ribbon cable to the internal laptop screen needs to be replaced. I also think that your HDD is defective.

To test, install the memory again. Keep external TV or monitor screen connected. Without the HDD connected, can you now boot from the ubuntu USB stick and see an external screen? Jack E/NJ
